Pub Tour in Copenhagen
There are thousands of pubs, taverns and different types of bars in Copenhagen. Their history is closely connected with the history of the city. The oldest pub that is still in operation is more than 300 years old. We will hear about the history of the “brown pubs”. Around 40 years ago, there were approximately 1,000 of them; today, there are around 200. They are regarded as social institutions in Copenhagen, with smoking, dice games and Danish five-pin billiards. The atmosphere is very friendly. Every pub has its own identity, and everyone is warmly welcomed. We will also visit one of the new craft beer bars, which have become very popular over the past 20 years. There are also numerous hotel bars. In the past, they were something like an inexpensive trip abroad. During the tour, we will visit three or four different pubs, depending on the circumstances. Drinks are not included in the price, they will be paid locally.
